Similarities in The Discussed Cultures |
Cultural Similarites- Between the Industrialized societies, there are social classes ranging from upper upper to lower lower.
- Little to no social class in the rural non-industrialized societies. - In every culture, parents have a job to do, that job is passed down to the child whether house chores or learning to survive. - In every society, they have a place in which they call home. - In the industrialized societies, children learn academics, in the non-industrialized societies children learn survival methods. - Every culture has their own abilities to survive. |
Throughout the documentary, these similarities the cultures Folkways, Mores, and Taboos were noticed:
Folkways
Early Life:
- Babies are all breast fed or bottle fed.
- All the Babies learn to walk.
- The Babies are all spoken to and have conversations to teach the baby to speak the language.
- Temper tantrums are not okay.
- Curiosity is okay
- Love was shown in industrialized societies through protection, in non-industrialized societies, love was shown through learning how to live on your own.
Toddler/Childhood Life:
- Clothing is made custom
- Often taught the ways of how to live within that certain society.
- Some form of education is done (Formally or Informally).
- Industrialized societies the children were given toys to play with, in non industrialized societies, the children had to find their own toys.
